Job Summary The Behavioral Health Business Partner (BHBP) responsibilities include leadership of financial reporting, analysis, and budgeting for the Woods System of Care's growing outpatient physical and behavioral health practices.
Responsibilities include participation in practice management, revenue cycle, general ledger oversight, and audit support.
The BHBP is a recognized and respected subject matter expert and a key contributor to the success of these programs that integrate with our overall system of care that supports the physical health, clinical treatment, residential, educational, and vocational needs of some of our nation's most vulnerable children and adults.
Responsibilities:
Prepares and presents financial statements and reports for review by the Chief Financial Officer and program leadership.
Review monthly budget vs.
actual reports for accuracy and appropriateness.
Develop annual budgets projecting revenue and expenses in a fee-for-service or value-based payment environment in cooperation with program leadership Interviews, hires, evaluates and supervises staff as needed Enforces and improves internal accounting and other controls to safeguard the organization Ensures full compliance with all federal, state, and local legislation relative to finance and billing functions of medical and clinical service delivery.
Projects, manages, and monitors cash flow to ensure the availability of funds for smooth operations and keeping CFO and program leadership up-to-date on cash flow.
Collaborates and works closely with corporate functions including payroll, accounts payable, accounting, revenue cycle management, FP&A, internal audit, and compliance.
Assists the CFO, VP of Finance, and program leadership as requested to execute special projects.
In partnership with program leadership, develops reimbursement rates for the service offerings using available cost and capacity information in line with Federal/State regulations.
Participates in the development and preparation of rate appeals.
Collaborates and coordinates with Woods' affiliated organizations on financial and operational performance.
As a subject matter expert, provides practical and technical accounting and operational advice including charge master and contractual adjustments by payer within the programs and to the broader system of care.
Creatively reviewing, defining, and implementing finance processes to improve efficiency and reporting quality.
Assessing, strengthening, documenting, and enforcing effective and practical GAAP-compliant policies and internal controls including the segregation of responsibility for approvals, asset custody, recording, and reconciliation in coordination with the overall system of care standards.
Leads and champions initiatives to evaluate, review, upgrade, and replace systems and technology pertinent to the programs and/or the greater system of care.
Develops and maintains strong relationships with program leadership and Woods' affiliated organizations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business management preferred.
CPA required.
Prior medical practice/federally qualified health center (FQHC) and public accounting and leadership experience, ideally in a clinical environment such as a health system, hospital, or clinic setting.
FQHC knowledge is important.
Experience working with government contracts, managed care, and other value-based contracting types.
Charismatic staff management and mentoring is essential.
Expertise in Microsoft Dynamics GP or a similar general ledger system, Prophix (budgeting, analysis and reporting) and process automation are distinct advantages.
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
