$15 / hour Job Summary The Recreation Activity Assistant plans, implements and assists with the activities and events that benefit the social, emotional and physical wellbeing of the residents.
Responsibilities:
Works with coworkers to maintain the organization, cleanliness, and upkeep of recreational facilities and equipment.
Plans special themed events that offer a variety of activities and fun for the residents.
Plans and coordinates physical activities and games that meet the needs and interests of the residents.
Plans and implements arts and crafts, clubs and musical activities after 3pm during the week and between 10-5pm on the weekends.
Communicates with residences about daily recreation schedule Assists coworkers at special large group events and activities Implements specific special projects as assigned.
Completes and maintains all required documentation regarding recreational activities and attendance.
Performs duties at the barn and pool areas as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds and must physically be able to provide behavioral support and intervention as needed to ensure client and staff safety.
Experience working with people with developmental disabilities and/or in recreational programming preferred.
Must be agile, able to bend, squat, stretch, reach, push up and stand for several hours at a time.
